Shopping List pg. 66

For a 10 day cleanse you will need the following: (approximately)

1) 60-80 lemons (preferable organic) The organic ones aren't too much more expensive. At my store I can purchase them at a rate of 3 for $2.00. *I wouldn't purchase more than 3 days worth of lemons at a time. You don't want to throw money away if they spoil!!

**Also... If you are not a fan of lemons you can use limes. Make sure they are yellow in color to be ripe. A dark green lime is not ripe and you do not want to use that! **Store at room temperature, lemons and limes do go bad quicker when refrigerated.

2) 2 quarts of Maple Syrup - Maple Syrup has different grades. Grade B is the one that has the most nutrients in it and tastes the best. This is also the one recommended to use during the cleanse. If you are unable to get it like I did, I wouldn’t sweat it. Also in the drink mix I mentioned to use 2 Tablespoons of the syrup. If you are looking to lose weights while doing this cleanse use only 1 Tablespoon, if you are looking to maintain your weight or bulk up while on the cleanse use 2-3 Tablespoons. Please don’t eliminate it because it has things your body needs! (This will be all put into another post!)

3) 1/2 Sea Salt – In the morning of day one you can either repeat the laxative of your choice or use an internal salt water bath.

A. Use 2 teaspoons of UNIODIZED SEA SALT to 1 quart of warm water

Now you can choice to omit the salt water bath if you choice… but know the facts first!

Salt water bath – can start to be eliminated from the body within 30 min but take as long as 90 min. The final elimination will also occur around 1 hour after the first. This can be a good thing if you are a very busy person or if you want to be able to time when you’re BM are going to occur. (If you pass the salt water through you, don’t worry, add more salt next time.

The herbal laxative can cause cramping due to the discharge of the nasty stuff inside of you J However this is pretty much the point of the cleanse. Tom describes in his book that he normally does the salt water bath 3x out of the 10 day cleanse. Day 1, on either day 3 or 4 then again on day 7 or 8. This is what I’m going to do.

4) 10 gallons of good water (more if you want to drink it both as water and tea) – It is recommended not to use distilled water, if you do it is also recommended to put out into the sun for 2-3 days to be recharged and then add back trace minerals by shaking a few grains of sea salt or trace mineral supplements in liquid form.

5) 2 ounces cayenne pepper

6) Sufficient herbal laxative (this can be a herbal laxative tea as well) - Like I mentioned before start off taking a laxative or drinking the tea the night before. You want to make sure your having 3-4 BM a day. (I do believe it takes a couple days to get to this point... most people needed to do the cleanse probably are not on a regular schedule, so everyone's BM will be different. Some may start to have the BM sooner than others. **Another important factor about the herbal laxatives.....

A. Can be used as a herbal tablet, capsule or tea.

B. The herbal tea might be too weak and you will have to use two bags. First make it according to the directions and then adjust if needed. (Again not everyone will be the same :) )

C. When using in tablet or capsule form you generally need 3-5 of them to create the desired results.

D. Whatever form you use MAKE SURE YOU USE EVERY NIGHT WHILE ON THE CLEANSE!!!

E. The laxative may cause diarrhea with some people, if this is true for you, stop using until the diarrhea goes away. Please keep in mind that this is a monodiet, with no fiber. It may appear that you have diarrhea when you do not. It can take 2-3 days for the bm to change from firm to lose. I would stop using the laxative only when and if it seems as if there is no control over the colon and you have to RUN repeatedly to the bathroom.

7) (If needed) set of measuring spoons, including 1/2 teaspoon size

Good luck and I hope this information was helpful to anyone who does not have the book!
